A Misconduct Hearing involving a Greater Manchester Police officer
Notice of Misconduct hearing

Officer B will answer allegations that their conduct amounted to a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of:
- Authority, Respect and Courtesy; and
- Discreditable Conduct.
It is alleged that on 1 June 2022, while on a work night out with colleagues, Officer B on one or more occasion grabbed PC A’s bottom. In doing so it is alleged that Officer B’s conduct has brought discredit upon the police service.
In acting in the way alleged, Officer B has breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour and this conduct, if proven, amounts to gross misconduct in that it is so serious as to justify dismissal.
Members of the media and public may attend subject to the following conditions:
- The Chair has directed that the accused officer, the subject of his alleged misconduct and certain witnesses will be given anonymity by way of reporting restrictions of their name. Cyphers are to be used for the purpose of the hearing. The prohibition on the reporting of the Officer’s name shall continue until the end of the Final Hearing, at which point it will be revisited following the Panel’s ruling in the misconduct proceedings.
- The taking of photographs and the use of film or sound recording equipment during the hearing, except for official use, is prohibited.
- The media may make written representations upon these directions to the Chair by 16.00 on Friday 11 September 2026. Such representations are to be sent to Greater Manchester Police Misconduct Proceedings Unit at [email protected]
If members of the press or public wish to observe the hearing, they are required to pre-register via the GMP website, leaving their details including contact telephone number and email address. Anyone who has not pre-registered will not be allowed to access the hearing.
The need to manage those persons attending the hearing will limit numbers to 12 total.
