An Accelerated Misconduct Hearing involving a Greater Manchester Police officer will be held on 8 September 2026.

The Accelerated Misconduct Hearing will take place at Unit A, Central Park, Northampton Road, Manchester, M40 5BP.

The Accelerated Misconduct Hearing will begin at 10.00

PC 16781 Michael Aspinall will answer allegations that their conduct amounts to a breach of the Standard of Professional Behaviour of Discreditable Conduct contrary to the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020 following an investigation that on 9 July 2026, he was convicted of three counts of attempted sexual communication with a child contrary to section 15A(1) of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

Members of the public wishing to attend the Accelerated Misconduct Hearing must register to do so.

The need to manage those persons attending the hearing will limit numbers to 12 total.

If members of the press or public wish to observe the hearing, they are required to pre-register via the GMP website, leaving their details including contact telephone number and email address. Anyone who has not pre-registered will not be allowed to access the hearing.

No recording or filming of the proceedings is allowed.
