Police Constable Paul Gilham and Police Sergeant Adam Dickinson will both answer allegations that their conduct amounted to a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of:
Duties and Responsibilities;
Honesty and Integrity; and Discreditable Conduct
It is alleged that on 2 June 2022, whilst attending a report of an alleged assault, PC Gilham and PS Dickinson failed to respond appropriately to allegations of a criminal assault, failed to record the incident as a crime or ensure that the incident was recorded as a crime, and recorded that the incident was not domestic. It is further alleged that PC Gilham and PS Dickinson dishonestly recorded or allowed to be recorded that there had been no offence or fear of any violence. In doing so it is alleged that PC Gilham’s and/or PS Dickinson’s conduct has brought discredit upon the police service.
In acting in the way alleged, PC Gilham and/or PS Dickinson has breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour and this conduct, if proven, amounts to gross misconduct in that it is so serious as to justify dismissal.
