Police are appealing for information after a child was injured in a fail-to-stop collision
At around 6.30pm this evening (Sunday 1 August 2021), police were called to junction of Roda Street and Zeta Street in Harpurhey, Manchester to reports of a collision between a 12-year-old girl and a white Vauxhall Corsa which failed to stop at the scene.
Emergency services attended and the girl was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
Inspector Craig Roberts, of GMP's City of Manchester division, said: "This is a shocking incident in which a driver has collided with a young girl and failed to stop, leaving her injured on the roadside.
"This incident happened in daylight on a residential street, and I am hopeful that there are a number of witnesses who may have dashcam or CCTV footage that can aid our investigation.
"If you were in the area at the time and witnessed this incident, or have seen this car in the area around this time, please do not hesitate to contact police."
