Officers continuing to investigate a serious collision on the M60 at the weekend are appealing to drivers who may have witnessed the incident, or who were in the area, to check dash cam footage.
At around 7.30pm on the evening of Sunday 19 December, we were called to reports of a collision on the M60 between junctions 16 and 17 involving three vehicles - a white and blue Renault HGV, a black Vauxhall Corsa, and a black Audi A4.
Emergency services attended and the driver of the Vauxhall - a 21-year-old woman - was taken to hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.
No arrests have been made and investigators are appealing to anyone who saw the collision - or who may have been driving close to J16 and 17 on Sunday evening and has a dash cam - to contact police and check over any footage they may have.
Police Constable Carl Boydell, of our Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "A young woman is fighting for her life in hospital at a time when she should be celebrating Christmas with the people she means the most to; our thoughts are with the woman and her loved ones at this really difficult time.
"Our enquiries into this incident continue to progress, but we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have any information or footage of this incident that could assist our investigation - even if it seems insignificant.
"Anyone with details should report online, if able, on www.gmp.police.uk or call us on 0161 856 4741 quoting incident 2474 of 19/12/2021."
