Police are appealing for information following the stabbing of a man outside a takeaway in Stockport.
Officers were called to Broadstone Road in Reddish at around 1am on Sunday 6 June to reports that a man had been stabbed.
A 21-year old man had been walking home towards Houldsworth Square with friends and his girlfriend, when he became involved in an altercation with two males who were believed to be carrying a knife and proceeded to assault him before fleeing the scene in a black car.
One of the males is described as being on crutches.
The victim suffered multiple stab wounds and a serious facial injury, and remains in hospital for treatment.
A 17-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault, and has since been released on bail pending further investigation.
Detective Constable Ellie Cartwright, of GMP's Stockport division, said: "This is a shocking incident which has resulted in a man requiring hospital treatment for his injuries.
"Although we have arrested one person, our investigation is still very much ongoing. We would like to reassure the public that we are following all available lines of enquiry to establish the full circumstances of this incident and locate a second suspect as quickly as possible.
"If anyone witnessed this incident or has any information at all, please speak to police as soon as possible. Even the smallest piece of information could prove vital in helping us to complete our enquiries"
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen anything at the time, and are asking anyone with information to contact police via LiveChat on our website www.gmp.police.uk or call 0161 856 9788 quoting incident number 182 of 06/06/21, or call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
