At around 11.10am this morning (Sunday 23 May 2021), police were called to reports of a collision between a Jeep Wrangler and a wall on Scout Road, Bolton following a believed medical episode.
Emergency services attended and despite the best work of paramedics, a 74-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
Police Constable Neil Pennington, of GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "Our thoughts remain with the man's family at this very difficult time.
"This collision happened in broad daylight, and I am confident that there are a number of people who witnessed this tragic incident and may have dashcam footage of the car leading up to this collision.
"If you have any information or dashcam footage that could assist our enquiries, please do not hesitate to get in touch."
