Officers were called around 5.40pm on Wednesday 26 May 2021 to a report of a collision involving multiple vehicles on Hollyhedge Road, Wythenshawe.
Emergency services attended and enquiries established a Fiat Panda had been involved in collision with a Keeway K-Light motorcycle. The motorcycle was then involved in a further collision with a Skoda Octavia.
A 74-year-old woman was taken to hospital with potentially life changing injuries.
A 39-year-old man was also taken to hospital with serious injuries. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
Police Sergeant Andrew Page of GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "This was a nasty collision that has left two people in hospital with serious injuries. Our thoughts are with them as they both receive urgent medical attention.
"This collision occurred during rush-hour so we're confident there are people who may have witnessed it or seen the vehicles in the area beforehand. If you were a witness or have information that could assist our investigation please get in touch with police as soon as possible."
