Detectives in Wigan investigating a serious assault in Atherton where a man and woman were attacked with a machete have released CCTV of a man they wish to speak to who was seen in the area in the moments before and after the incident.
At around 9.15pm on Wednesday 6 July, we were called to a report of a man and woman with serious injuries at an address on Bolton Old Road.
It’s believed a man was armed with a machete when he went to the property and inflicted possibly life-changing injuries to the man. The woman was also injured and has thankfully been discharged from hospital to continue her recovery.
No arrests have been made and investigators are continuing with their enquiries to establish the causes and circumstances of the incident.
They have today (Saturday 16 July) released CCTV from around the time of the incident where a man can be seen on Bolton Old Road. Can you help us identify him?
