We are appealing for information following an assault in Tameside, as one suspect remains in police custody for questioning

At around 7.30pm on Sunday 13 March 2022, we received a report that a 15-year-old boy had been assaulted by a group of men on Bentinck Street, Ashton Under Lyne.
Enquiries established that two vehicles, one described as black and the other as a Mercedes, had pulled up alongside the victim and his friend on Dean Street.
The victim was then knocked to the floor by the black car before the occupants of both cars got out and repeatedly kicked/ stamped on his head and body.
He was left unconscious and was taken to hospital. He is continuing to recovery.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of an assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He remains in police custody for questioning.
DS Ian Parker, of GMP's Tameside district, said: "This was a really vicious and unprovoked assault which left the young man with a bleed on the brain - hopefully, he will make a full recovery.
"We are committed to solving this crime and ensuring all those involved are brought to face justice.
"I would like to use this opportunity to appeal to anyone with information, mobile phone or dash cam footage from the area at the time of the incident to contact us or Crimestoppers."
