At around 4am this morning (Saturday 3 September 2022), officers responded to reports that three masked men had set fire to a car Ripponden Road in Oldham.
While the fire was quickly extinguished, the car was left with significant damage.
Enquiries are ongoing and detectives are currently treating the fire as arson.
Chief Inspector Abigail Cronin of Greater Manchester Police Neighbourhood Partnerships in Oldham said: “This was a shocking incident which put members of the public at risk.
“Thankfully no one was badly injured, and the incident appears to have been isolated. Such reckless behaviour however will absolutely not be tolerated, and we are committed to finding those responsible.
