Shortly after 8pm on Wednesday 14 August 2019, a man stormed a shop on Woodsend Road, armed with a hand gun and an axe.
He made threats towards staff before fleeing the scene with alcohol and tobacco
Today (Monday 19 August 2019) officers arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and burglary.
He remains in custody for questioning.
PC Oliver Batty GMP’s Trafford district, said: “I would like to thank everyone who has come forward to police with information following this incident.
“We have been working tirelessly and thanks to the quick work of our officers, and support from members of the public – we have made an arrest.
“This situation could have resulted in a terrible outcome and our enquiries are very much ongoing therefore if you think you might have information to assist our investigation, then please call us 0161 856 7634.”
