Police were called to a property on Spindlewood Road, Ince, Wigan at around 5pm on Sunday 7 June 2020 to a report of a man threatening the occupants of a house with an axe.
Specialist officers, including officers from the dog unit, attended and located a man in nearby woodland.
An axe was recovered nearby.
A man aged 44 was detained at the scene on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon. He was taken to hospital for treatment of a minor injury.
No further injuries were reported.
