At around 11.03pm last night (Sunday 9 May 2021) a grey Ford Focus failed to give way at the junction of Bayley Street and Bridge Street, Stalybridge, before colliding with an Audi A3.
Emergency services attended and a man who is thought to have been an occupant of the Ford Focus, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Enquiries are on-going in relation to the collision.
The driver of the Audi, a 24 year old man, suffered minor injuries.
PC Darren White of GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the victim's family at this terribly difficult time.
A full investigation is underway and we encourage anyone who witnessed the incident, especially those who may have provided first aid at scene or anyone with information to please get in touch."
