Luke McSharry (23/02/02) of Weavers Road, Middleton has been charged with section 18 assault and possession of an offensive weapon.
He has been remanded to appear before Manchester Magistrates Court tomorrow (Thursday 26 August 2021).
This relates to reports of a stabbing at around 12.50pm on Saturday 14 August at Middleton shopping centre, where the victim was working as a security guard when he suffered five serious stab wounds.
Officers from GMP Rochdale, with support from Derbyshire Police, arrested the suspect in woodland in Glossop after extensive enquiries by detectives in Rochdale CID.
