Police were called to Liverpool Road in Irlam just after 8pm last night (Thursday 19 August) following reports of what looked like underage boys driving a 4x4.
Neighbourhood patrol officers located a vehicle matching the description, believed to be stolen, and engaged in a pursuit. (See video.)
The car made off over Barton Moss, and eventually went into a ditch. Four teenagers left the vehicle and headed into the fields on foot.
Emergency services searched the area, and three teenage boys were arrested at the scene. A fourth boy was detained some time later on Dean Road in Cadishead.
Two 13 year olds, a 14 year old and a 16 year old were taken to hospital and checked over for minor injuries. They were then taken into custody where they remain for questioning.
Inquiries are ongoing.
