Two men charged following spate of robberies in Leigh

Two men have been charged following a series of alleged robberies in Leigh on Saturday (14 August 2021).
Lewis Creighton (30/10/1994) of no fixed abode, and Joshua Anderson (01/05/2002) of Cox Way, Atherton, have been charged with four counts of business robbery, possession of a bladed article and possession of an offensive weapons.
Both men appeared at Wigan Magistrates Court yesterday (16 August 2021) and have been remanded into custody. They are next due to appear in court on 27 September 2021.
Police were called shortly before 9.40am on Saturday 14 August to a report of a shop robbery on Bradwell Road.
Subsequent calls were received in the following 15 minutes at stores on Warrington Road, Elliott Street and Green Street.
During the incidents, a male shop worker was taken to hospital for treatment to a serious, but thankfully not life-threatening. One other person also suffered minor injuries.
