Detectives in Rochdale have arrested a man following our appeal for information after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted in the town earlier this year.
A 37-year-old man is currently being held in custody after being arrested in Rochdale this morning (Thursday 30 December) on suspicion of sexual assault.
The arrest follows an appeal for information we issued a week ago (Thursdsy 23 December) with an image of a man we were keen to speak to in relation to an alleged incident in the Memorial Gardens on Friday 28 May.
The 17-year-old victim continues to be supported by specialist partner agencies and has been kept updated with the latest developments in the investigation.
Our enquiries are ongoing and we thank the public for their support with the appeal.
