Officer charged with conspiracy to commit police corruption

A GMP officer has been charged with conspiracy to commit police corruption.
PC Akeel Kadir (24/09/1969), based in GMP's Bolton District, has been charged with:
One count of conspiracy to commit police corruption, contrary to s26 Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015
Three counts of unlawfully obtaining personal data contrary to s170(1) Data Protection Act 2018.
Junaid Patel (13/12/1987),of Edstone Close, Bolton, Mohammed Soorma (19/08/1973), of Bankfield Street, Bolton, and Soyab Dhalech (18/04/70), of Prince Road, Bolton were each also charged with one count of Conspiracy to commit Police Corruption, contrary to s26 Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015
All four have been bailed to appear before Manchester Magistrates Court on 20 January 2022. PC Kadir has been subject to restricted duties since being arrested on 12 November 2019.
These charges relate to incidents which occurred in the period April 2015 to November 2019.
The charges were authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service after a file was sent for a decision on 23 November 2020.
