Police were called to Hyde Road in Woodley, Stockport at 7:15pm on Saturday 11 December to reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
Officers attended, and found a 79-year-old man had been hit while crossing the road, and he was taken to hospital for treatment.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of medical staff, the man died in hospital yesterday (Thursday 23 December).
The driver of vehicle involved, a silver coloured Toyota Corolla, remained at the scene to assist police. No arrests have been made.
Police Constable Karl Horner from GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "Firstly, our thoughts go out to this man's family and loved ones at this difficult time. We are investigating to fully understand the circumstances around what happened.
"We're keen to speak to anyone who may have seen anything, or have CCTV or DashCam footage of the area at the time.
