At around 1.25am this morning (Saturday 4 December), police were called to a report that a man had been hit by a car on Bolton Street, Ramsbottom.
Officers attended and initial enquiries have established that just before the collision, the victim, a 25-year-old man, was involved in an altercation in the street with three other males resulting in a passing car, a blue Ford Fiesta, colliding with the victim causing serious injuries.
Three men, two aged 25 and a 28-year-old, were all arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault and a 28-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of drug driving offences and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. All remain in custody for questioning.
