At around 11.30am yesterday, (Wednesday 23 June) police were called to a report of a road traffic collision involving a lorry and two cars on the A57 at Cadishead Way, Irlam.
The air ambulance and fire service also attended and a 62-year-old man and a 39-year-old man were both taken to hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the lorry remained at the scene to assist police. No arrests have been made.
