A man has been charged with terrorism offences following an investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing North West.
Mason Yates (15/01/2003), of Elstreet Court, Widnes, was arrested by officers following a warrant at his address Friday 8 January 2021.
He has since been charged with two counts of possession of a document or record likely to be useful to a person preparing, or committing, an act of terrorism, contrary to section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
He has also been charged with possession of an extreme pornographic image.
He appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court yesterday (4 November 2021) and will next appear at Central Criminal Court on Friday 19 November 2021.
