This morning officers from GMP's Stockport District, (The Stockport District Priority Team) with assistance from officers from GMP's City of Manchester district, conducted warrants in Burnage and the Lancashire Hill area of Stockport.
A 15-year old and 16-year old have been arrested, and a machete, hammer, balaclava, and a number of suspected stolen items have been recovered including; a moped, a leather jacket, motorbike gloves, a helmet, and some number plates.
The two teenagers are being held on suspicion of Robbery and remain in custody for questioning.
The latest arrests are part of Operation Luster - dedicated action to target the offenders wanted for committing a series of robberies using Mopeds.
So far, 7 arrests have been made in connection with them.
Sergeant David Collins from GMP's Stockport District said: “We are aware of the concerns within the community regarding these robberies, and we will continue to work to bring those responsible to justice.
"We are using intelligence and dogged police work to identify and locate these offenders, and we will bring in specialist operational support to pursue them where needed. Committing a crime such as robbery while on a moped, does not mean you will be able to easily get away with it - and since we launched the operation we've seen a significant drop in this kind of criminal activity.
"If you or anyone you know has any information or concerns regarding Operation Luster, please contact police online, if able, or via 101, quoting the operation name. Thank you."
