Police were called just before 10pm on Monday 11 October to reports of a robbery at knifepoint in Stockport.
A 35-year-old man had been riding his motorbike on Dialstone Lane, Offerton, when he was surrounded by a group of eight young males on mopeds, who forced him off his bike and rode it away.
Emergency services attended, there were no serious injuries and enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Moyles, from GMP's Stockport district, said: "We know there is some concern in the community around the issue of moped robberies in Stockport at the moment.
"We are working to address this by bringing in additional resources and increasing police presence in hotspot locations.
"But we can't do it alone - I want to encourage anyone who may have seen anything, or have any information no matter how small, to come forward and share it with us. If you say something, we can do something.
"You can get in touch via LiveChat on our website www.gmp.police.uk or call 101 quoting log number 3213 of 11/10/21.
"Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111. Thank you."
