GMP update ahead of Manchester United v Liverpool, Sunday 24 October 2021
Main article content
On Sunday 24 October 2021, Manchester United host Liverpool in a premier league fixture with a 4:30pm kick-off.
There will be additional police resources in the area to ensure that the public and supporters are provided with reassurance and are able to enjoy this event.
We understand that this fixture is one steeped in history with a long-standing rivalry and encourage everyone attending to act responsibly.
We would encourage those planning on attending to arrive in plenty of time as well as advise those living in the area to allow extra time on their journey due the expected increase in traffic in the area.
There will be a strict search regime in place at Old Trafford, with stewards searching fans prior to entry with detectors and pyrotechnic drug dogs.
These items are prohibited and, if caught, fans risk being refused entry and arrested by police.
There will be alcohol on sale at Old Trafford in the concourse areas but the sale of alcohol will be limited to two drinks per person per visit. All drinks purchased will be decanted into plastic cups.
We wish supporters of both clubs the very best and hope everyone enjoys their day out.
