Yesterday afternoon (1 November 2021) police were called to a report of an aggravated burglary at an address on Stamford Street, Mossley.
Initial enquiries have established that at around 1.20pm the victim opened her front door to find a man who appeared to be delivering a parcel to the address.
The man has then pushed the victim back inside the property and assaulted her while demanding money and jewellery.
A second offender has then entered and continued to assault the victim before locking her in a downstairs room. They then left the property after searching rooms, leaving empty handed.
The unknown male offenders are described as white and both wearing hi-vis tops, with one described as slim in build and the other of a larger build. They are reported to have arrived in a white van which parked up on the driveway.
Detective Constable Steven Carroll, of Tameside CID, said: " This was an extremely distressing incident for the victim and we have a team of detectives trying to locate these offenders.
