At 7.43pm on Wednesday evening (3 November) police were called to a report that a man had been assaulted and his car stolen on Newcroft Road, Urmston.
Police as well as the ambulance service attended and a man in his 50s was located with a large cut to his head.
Initial enquiries established that the victim and his partner had been walking down the road, when two unknown offenders approached the victim asking for his car keys.
When the victim refused, he was hit over the head with an unknown object. The offenders then stole the victim's car and drove off from the scene.
One of the offenders has been described as a black male, aged around mid 20s, approximately 5ft 9ins tall, with short curly dark hair and wearing a dark coloured puffa style jacket.
Anyone with information or anyone who may have CCTV or dash cam footage showing the incident is asked to call Salford CID on 0161 856 7655 quoting log number 2712 of the 3 November 2021.
