At around 2.30am yesterday morning (Thursday 28 October 2021), police were called to reports of a burglary on Kingsbury Close, Tottington, Bury.
Enquiries have established that a group of offenders forced entry to a property before making off with the victim's car - a grey BMW M4.
The offenders followed the stolen car in a second car - a black BMW 5 series.
A short time later traffic officers were alerted to the stolen vehicle which had been reported as abandoned on Richmond Close Whitefield.
The car has been recovered by police for forensic examination.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
Sgt Joanne Irish said: "Burglary is an incredibly invasive crime which has left the victim feeling unsafe and fearful in his own home.
"Additional patrols have been deployed to the area whilst we carry out enquiries, so please do feel free to talk to our officers who will be able to offer advice and answer any questions.
"If you have any dashcam footage of these cars or were in the area at the time and saw something suspicious, please contact police as soon as possible."
