Police appeal for information following assault

Police are appealing for information following an assault in Manchester.
At about 4.50am this morning (Monday 6 September 2021), police were called by the ambulance service to reports of an assault on Oxford Road, Manchester.
Officers attended and a man has been taken to hospital with a head injury where he remains in a critical condition.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Peter Morley, of GMP's City of Manchester Division, said: "This incident has resulted in a man suffering serious head injuries.
"Our enquiries are still in their early stages, however, we are doing all that we can to establish the full circumstances of this assault and find those responsible.
"If anyone was present at the time and witnessed anything, please do not hesitate to make contact with police."
