Third charge in connection with Ancoats fatal stabbing

A third person has been charged in connection with a fatal stabbing in Ancoats last week.
Jermaine Leahong, (20/07/1999) of Lagos Close, Manchester, has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of 24-year-old Neri Morse on Wednesday 20 April 2022. He has also been charged with Section 18 assault and possession of a bladed article.
Neri sadly died following an incident on Pollard Street at around 6.30pm. During this incident, a second man - also in his 20s - was injured.
Detectives believe this was linked to an incident at Zaf's Go Local on Butler Street between 6.15pm and 6.25pm that evening and are continuing to appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
Leahong has been remanded in custody and will next appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court tomorrow morning (28 April 2022).
