Officers attended an address on Deansgate, Manchester city centre, on Monday 8 February and arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of aggravated burglary, section 18 assault and wounding with intent to resist. He remains in custody for questioning.
The arrest is in relation to an incident at about 9.50pm on Wednesday 2 February 2022 at the Riverpark Trading Estate, Briscoe Lane, Newton Heath that saw two officers injured after they were called to reports of a break-in at an industrial unit.
Three men were detained and arrested at the time - two have been released under investigation while Ryan Manning (05/08/1988) of Carmoor Road, Manchester, has been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary with intent to steal.
Detective Inspector Justin Bryant, of GMP's Serious and Organised Crime Group, said: "This arrest has come off the back of excellent work from our team of detectives from the City of Manchester"
"Hopefully this arrest reassures the public that we at GMP are committed to ensuring that no-one evades justice and sends a clear message to anyone thinking they can hide from police that we will do everything within our means to find you."
