Five people have appeared in court charged with a range of offences after a police pursuit in Manchester.
The charges relate to an incident on the 1 February 2022 where officers spotted a vehicle, believed to have been stolen in a burglary in Harpurhey earlier that evening, in the Moss Side/Longsight areas and pursued it to Gorton.
Abdul Azad (26/11/2003), of Bankfield Avenue, Longsight, has been charged with four counts of possession of a bladed article in a public place and was remanded into custody when he appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on 4 February 2022.
Four teenage males, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have also been charged with a variety of offences including possession of a bladed article in a public place, dangerous driving, taking a vehicle without consent, driving without insurance, driving without a licence and harassment. They were all released on bail.
The pursuit was carried out by neighbourhood officers and GMP's Xcalibre team took on the investigation.
