Operation Marshall deploys extra officers to patrol the region's roads and prosecute anyone found to be driving dangerously, carelessly or otherwise in accordance with the law. Officers also work with insurers to identify breaches of policy and seize any vehicles found to be uninsured.
Chief Inspector Andrew Riley, of GMP's Local Policing Branch, said: "These meets/ cruises are not professionally managed events and put the lives of attendees and innocent road users at risk.
"Our priority is keeping people safe and we will do everything in our power to fight, prevent and reduce crime which poses a threat, harm or risk to our communities."
