GMP Oldham’s Crime Team have this morning (Monday 18 July) charged two suspects with a number of burglary offences following an investigation into vehicle crime.
Shamus Hart-Born (07/06/1996) of Calder House, Lower Broughton and a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with five burglary offences. Hart-Born has also been charged with possession of a knife.
Detective Inspector Richard Arthern, of GMP Oldham’s Crime team, said; “Investigating burglary and arresting suspects is a priority for Oldham as it is for the rest of the force. I’m extremely pleased with the team’s hard work this weekend which has resulted in two suspects being charged and will hopefully go some way to reducing the number of burglaries in our communities. We will continue to do our part in fighting this type of crime, which causes unnecessary stress and upset, but ask members of the public to remain vigilant and report any information to us as soon as possible.
“As part of the force’s ongoing recruitment, additional officers are being deployed to investigate and solve crime, ultimately keeping people safe. If you’re interested in joining us, apply to be a detective via gmp.police.uk/recruitment.”
