On Tuesday 28 June 2022, at around 12:20pm, a stolen Ford Transit was seen acting suspiciously on Park Road, Oldham using false plates.
The vehicle was subsequently pursued by the Transport Unit along Wellington Street where a police car received significant damage through being rammed and as such is still off the road since last month.
After extensive enquiries, officers are now in position to appeal to the public for information to help identify a man, pictured, they would like to speak to in relation to the incident.
Police Sergeant Michael Mooney of GMP’s Transport Unit said, “It’s important we find out who has caused the damage to what is an important vehicle in the fleet to help fight crime on our roads.
“Thankfully officers didn’t receive injuries at the time, but it doesn’t take away the severity of the incident and why we would like the help of the public to assist us in our investigation.”
Anyone who has information should contact police as soon as possible on 101 quoting incident 51 of 28/06/2022 or alternatively direct by calling 0161 856 1855 or emailing [email protected]
