Jamil Ahmed (03/01/85), of Thurland Road, Oldham, was sentenced today (Friday 4 March 2022) at Manchester Crown Court to 15 years imprisonment after being convicted of assault.
The court was told Ahmed inflicted life changing leg injuries on a man in his 40s by striking him with a car and steering wheel lock during an incident on Whitehouse Avenue in May 2021. DC James Rothwell, of GMP's Oldham district, said: "The impact this incident had on the victim will last him a life time but I hope today's result provides him with a sense of closure.
"This case just goes to show that Greater Manchester Police is committed to investigating and solving crime - ensuring that those responsible for crimes are brought to face justice."
