At around 2:30pm on Saturday 12 November 2022, emergency services were called to reports of a fire at a premises on Harbour Lane in Milnrow, Rochdale.
GMP officers attended the scene and located a large cannabis farm and illegally bypassed electricity connections which had resultantly caught on fire.
1800 cannabis plants worth a total of £1 million street value (£1.8 million should the grow have reached maturity), were seized from the premises and have since been destroyed.
Greater Manchester Police have since launched an investigation into this and are conducting further enquiries.
