We’ve arrested a man in relation to a shooting in Oldham last month.
Yesterday (6 October) detectives from Oldham – alongside specialist officers from our Force Critical Wanted Unit – executed a warrant at an address in the Chadderton area.
A 23-year-old man was held on suspicion of firearms offences and was taken to custody - where he remains to also be questioned on suspicion of assault, burglary, and drugs offences.
The arrest follows over three weeks of meticulous enquiries by our Oldham CID investigators and our Challenger team tackling organised crime in the town.
An investigation began after at least three shots were fired at a man on Belmont Street by three men wearing balaclavas late on the evening of 19 September - shortly after an earlier incident on Radcliffe Street where threats were made with a firearm.
We continue to appeal for anyone with information to contact us online via our LiveChat facility on our website or by calling 101 quoting incident 3193 of 19/09/2022.
Details can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
