On Friday 5 August, a warrant was executed at Burnage Cricket Club on Mauldeth Road, Burnage. A samurai sword, an axe and knuckledusters were recovered from the premises along with a quantity of drugs and a banned breed of dog.
A hearing has since taken place on Wednesday 31 August 2022, which saw Burnage Cricket Club lose its license to sell alcohol with immediate effect.
Three men were also arrested during the raid. Two have since been charged, while the third who was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply has been released under investigation.
James Todd (DOB: 01/05/2004) of Heathside Road, Manchester was charged with possession of cannabis and has been remanded in custody on a separate matter for other offences.
Michael Mcmahon (DOB: 03/07/1990) of Elsa Road, Manchester was also charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
Civil action is being taken in relation to the banned breed of dog that was seized. The owner has not received the dog back and is required to attend a trial date at Civil Court.
