Yesterday evening (Friday 28 April) just after 9.30pm, officers were called to reports of a collision in Bolton.
Emergency services attended and it was established that a collision had occurred between a white BMW and a pedestrian on Bolton Road, Farnworth at its junction with Gladstone Road.
The pedestrian – a man in his 30s - sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition.
A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have footage of the incident - including CCTV or dashcam - to please get in touch.
