Officers in Manchester city centre are appealing for information about an assault that put a man in hospital for a month.
The victim was approached by a man at 11am on 5 January 2023 on the steps next to the AO Arena close to Victoria Station, and again on the footpath towards the A56 under the bridge.
He was then attacked and stamped on, leaving him with a bleed on the brain.
The victim described his attacker as an Asian male in his 30s, around 5ft 7in to 5ft 10in tall and of medium build.
Detective Constable Oliver Maddox, of GMP's City of Manchester district, said: "Because the victim was in hospital for a month, the crime wasn't reported to us.
"We are determined to find his attacker and bring him to justice, and are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen anything, or any drivers with dashcam footage."
Anyone with information about this incident should contact police on 0161 856 4305 quoting log 1573-06/02/2023.
Information can also be reported online or by using the LiveChat function at www.gmp.police.uk. If you can't report online, call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
