At around 11.20pm last night (Sunday 16 April 2023) Greater Manchester Police were called to reports of a suspected firearms discharge at a property on Rochdale Road, Harpurhey.
A scene remains in place whilst officers continue their enquiries and no injuries have been reported.
Detective Inspector Charlotte Quinn of GMP’s City of Manchester North District said: “I would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding while we try and establish the full circumstances.
“Thankfully nobody was injured, and the incident is believed to be a targeted attack. This was a reckless attack and will not be tolerated in our communities in Greater Manchester.
“Extra patrol officers have been deployed around the local area both on foot and in patrol cars. If you have any concerns about this incident our officers will be happy to provide reassurance and listen to any of your queries.
"I cannot stress how important it is for the public to come forward if they have any information that could assist our investigation, whether it be CCTV footage, doorbell footage, photos, or descriptions of the suspects or events, we would ask that you report it to us directly."
If you have any information or footage that could assist our investigation into this incident, please contact GMP on 0161 856 1146 quoting log 3723 of 16/04/2023.
