Yesterday (Wednesday 19 April 2023), a man entered the Post Office on Sandy Lane, Prestwich around 10am, reportedly in possession of a small black handgun.
It is believed he forced the staff into the back-office area and made demands for cash and foreign currency. Once it was handed over, he then rode off on a pedal bike down Agecroft Road West towards the Kersal area.
Although shaken, staff members were not physically harmed.
Initial enquiries established that the man arrived and left the scene on a push bike and had been captured on camera travelling the full length of Agecroft Road West before and after the offence.
GMP are now asking for anyone to come forward who may have seen this man, especially those driving in the same area and who may have dashcam footage of the man on the bike (pictured).

Officers are also keen to hear from anyone who lives nearby who has doorbell footage or CCTV.
