Early yesterday morning (Monday 6 March 2023), officers executed a warrant in Longsight in relation to non-recent child sexual exploitation offences.
A 58-year-old man from Northmoor Road, was arrested on suspicion of the rape of a female under the age of 16 and was taken into custody for questioning, where he remains.
A second man, 47, also from Longsight, was located in Bristol. He was subsequently arrested, also for the rape of a female under the age of 16.
The man was later interviewed in Bristol by GMP detectives.
The arrests were made under Operation Green Jacket and relate to offences reportedly carried out in 2005.
Both men have been bailed pending further enquiries.
