Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are investigating a fire that occurred at a property on Chester Road in Old Trafford.
Officers were called to reports of the fire at 5:30am this morning (11 August 2023). They attended along with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service who remain at the scene carrying out enquiries.
No injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made at this time however enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
Sergeant Richard Lees said: "Greater Manchester Police have launched an investigation into the fire and are treating it as suspected arson at this time.
"We are appealing to the public for information and are keen to speak to three males who were sighted in the locality of the property around 5:30am, as it is believed they may have information that could assist with enquiries.
"If you were in the vicinity of the property and saw anything suspicious, or if you have any information to share that could aid the investigation - including if you have footage such as CCTV, doorbell or dashcam - please get in touch with police directly.
"I would also like to reassure members of the public that this is being treated as an isolated incident with no further risk to the wider public and we are carrying out extensive enquiries to determine the full circumstances."
