At around 2.20pm yesterday (Thursday 17 August 2023), officers were called to reports of an incident on Simonsway, Wythenshawe.
It was established that a cyclist had collided with a Tram after entering the level crossing area.
The cyclist, a 77-year-old male, is in a critical condition in hospital.
No arrests have been made and both the tram driver and Metrolink are assisting the police with their enquiries.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision occur, or those who may have footage of the incident – including CCTV, mobile or dashcam - should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741 quoting log 2052 of 17/08/23.
