On Wednesday 9 August at around 1:35pm, officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Wood Street in Middleton, Rochdale.
Emergency services attended the scene, and a 76-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The victim’s family have been made aware of the incident and both him and his loved ones are being supported by specialist officers.
A 63-year-old man remained at the scene and was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving. He was then taken to custody for further questioning and has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
