From 31 July to 6 August, the operation saw the Neighbourhood Crime Team (NCT), Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit (TVIU) and Cheshire Police work together to prevent and apprehend those committing home burglaries across the south of Manchester and Cheshire.
The operation has seen significant results, including 24 arrests for a number of neighbourhood crime offences including robbery, burglary, possession with intent to supply drugs, handling stolen goods and numerous driving offences.
Seven of those offenders arrested have now been charged and remanded into custody.
Detective Sergeant Matt Tarr, of GMP’s Stockport Neighbourhood Crime Team, said: “We work a lot in partnership with Cheshire as they are our neighbouring force and criminals will often operate in both force areas.
“Burglary is a priority for us, in terms of detection and prevention, along with vehicle crime and anti-social behaviour because this is what affects our communities most as well as providing residents of Stockport the best possible service.”
