Police yesterday morning carried out simultaneous dawn strikes to arrest two men suspected of being involved in firearms discharges that took place between March and May this year.
Zaki Shazad (02/08/2002) of Withington and Darren McAndrew (16/03/1984) of Failsworth have both been charged with conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.
These latest charges come after two 28-year-old men were charged in June, with possession of firearms with intent to danger life.
These charges are just the latest as a result of meticulous investigation by detectives from South Manchester’s Challenger Unit, who have been investigating a series of firearms discharges that occurred on Wilmslow Road in Stockport and Drip Burger Bar on Kingsway earlier this year.
Anyone with any information in relation to these incidents are asked to call GMP on 101 or via the Live Chat function on the website www.gmp.police.uk. In the case of emergency, always dial 999.
